At 6:00 am, the morning of the 23rd of December, Marcia Glessner, passed away. She had gone through a long, hard battle with congestive heart failure. She was an only child of Ray and Doris Hazel of Johnstown, PA. She was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, PA for many years before she started training plantation horses such as Thunder’s Lavish Lady, The Power Source, Coll’s Lady H, Sweet Swirl and many more in Denver, PA. |

United States District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk issued a decision denying the United States Department of Agriculture motion to change venue from the Amarillo division to the Dallas division. The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and Tennessee Walking Horse owners Kimberly Lewis and Tom Gould filed a lawsuit challenging the Horse Protection rule that is set to go into effect February 1st . |

Randall W. Dixon, age 81 of Monroe GA passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was the Founder and Chairman of the Board of the successful surveying, engineering and architectural firm Precision Planning, Inc. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2025 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Moon officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Haven Memory Gardens, 490 Edmondson Road, Monroe GA 30656. |

The following is a news release from American Horse Council regarding the new Horse Protection Act rule set to go into effect February 1, 2025. In addition to AHC’s request the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and two other plaintiffs have challenged the rule in federal court in Amarillo, Tx. A decision in that lawsuit should come prior to the February 1st effective date which could render the rule invalid and all or some of its provisions not valid and not implemented. |

Donald S. Dunivan, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born on June 18, 1937, to the late Clayton Wilson & Alene Jones Dunivan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and he attended Brogan Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Dunivan loved riding horses and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. |
