The Phoenix Horse Show is set for March 18-22, 2025 at the Covered Arena at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. The show is WHOA affiliated and the first leg of WHOA’s Triple Crown of 2025. Three judges will adjudicate the show with one alternate. |

In letters to the Trump Transition team, thirteen states’ agriculture departments have asked the United States Department of Agriculture to begin the process of formally withdrawing, in its entirety, the Horse Protection Amendments final rule. The rule was originally published May 8, 2024 and would have most of its provisions become effective February 1, 2025. |

President Donald J. Trump signed multiple executive orders yesterday, one of which could apply to the Horse Protection rule set to go into effect February 1, 2025. In his executive order President Trump allows agencies, including USDA, to postpone rules already published in the Federal Register for further review prior to their effective date. In order for this to apply to the rule impacting the Walking Horse industry, the agency would have to take this action to review the Horse Protection rule. |
