LEWISBURG, Tenn. — The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) has announced the 2025 inductees into its prestigious Hall of Fame and Master Breeder programs. Seven exceptional horses and three influential breeders will be recognized during the annual TWHBEA Awards Banquet on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the TWHBEA Auditorium in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

To be inducted into the TWHBEA Hall of Fame, horses must demonstrate outstanding merit in at least one of three categories - Breeding, Show Ring Accomplishment, or Ambassadorship of the Breed. The Master Breeder Award honors individuals whose lifelong breeding programs have profoundly advanced the Tennessee Walking Horse. Honorees are selected by the Executive Committee, past TWHBEA Presidents, past Master Breeders, and two members-at-large.

Ambassador Hall of Fame

COUNTERFEIT DOLLAR (987346)
Sire: Generator’s Silver Dollar • Dam: Pusher’s Lady Threat
Owner: Curtis McCloy, Norman, OK • Breeder: Ron M. Nichols, Oxford, MS

Affectionately known as “Wilbur,” Counterfeit Dollar served as the official flag horse at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration from 2003 to 2015. Ridden by WGC trainer Bud Seaton, Wilbur carried the American flag before hundreds of thousands of spectators who stood with hand to heart as he circled the famed Celebration oval. Upon his retirement to Oklahoma, he remained a beloved symbol of pride and tradition until his passing in 2024 at age 26.

H. F. MIDNIGHTS ROSE (661450)
Sire: Midnight Sun (HOF) • Dam: Holden’s Dusty Rose
Owner: Harlinsdale Farm, Franklin, TN • Breeder: Francis W. Holden, Hampshire, TN

H.F. Midnights Rose produced 11 foals, including The Wise Man and Gold Coin Collector, both sires of multiple World Champions and Reserve World Champions. Her influence continues through generations of accomplished horses such as WC Sweetie Sky, WC High Altitude, RWGC CP3, and RWC Jose’s Favorita.

MY JACKIE O (930609)
Sire: Prides Generator (HOF) • Dam: Count’s Silver Lining
Owner & Breeder: Margaret Anne Beech Alias, Oxford, MS

A two-time World Grand Champion and six-time World or Reserve World Champion, My Jackie O combined beauty, talent, and consistency in the show ring. As a broodmare, she excelled even further producing top horses such as RWGC Hey Hey Jose, National Futurity Champion Simply Priceless, and RWC She’s Our Amazing Grace. 

PEARLE (370229)

Owner & Breeder: Ellis Parker, Wartrace, TN

Foaled in 1928, Pearle was a cornerstone of early Tennessee Walking Horse breeding. This golden cross with Merry Boy produced five sons - Merry Maker, White Merry Boy Jr., Reynolds’ Pride, Lee White Allen, and Merry Boy’s Fancy, each of whom left a lasting mark on the breed. 

PUSHER’S EVENING STAR (874034)

Owner: Tommy & Martha McGee, Lenoir, NC • Breeder: William D. Thomas, Berea, KY

A 4x World Champion and 3x Reserve World Champion, Pusher’s Evening Star made her greatest mark as a broodmare. Her descendants include WGC El Zorro’s Star, WGC Zorro Jr., and WC Bombay Sapphire PVF, as well as multiple Reserve World Champions and National Futurity winners.

Undefeated throughout his career, Honors captured the title of 2016 World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse following a string of unanimous victories. With over 1,300 registered offspring, including 4xWGC Justified Honors, Honors has proven equally dominant as a sire. 





MASTER OF JAZZ (20100431)

Owners: Dr. Brian & Amanda Wright and Donald Headrick • Breeder: Gus King, Arab, AL

The 2007 World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse, Master of Jazz combined brilliance in the show ring with lasting success in the breeding barn. He has sired more than 600 registered foals, including multiple World and World Grand Champions such as the 2020 World Grand Champion Master’s Razzle and Jazz, Java, and A Master Sky High. Notably, he is one of only sixteen World Grand Champions to also sire a World Grand Champion, placing him among an elite group of breed legends.

THE SKYWATCH (920318)

A 1995 Three-Year-Old World Grand Champion, The Skywatch became one of the most influential sires of his era, producing over 1,300 registered foals. Among them are two World Grand Champions, Watch It Now (2009) and The Coach (2010), along with numerous World and Reserve World Champions. 

Master Breeders

Brian Anderton - Moulton, Alabama
A lifelong breeder and hands-on horseman, Brian Anderton has spent more than 30 years refining bloodlines and producing elite Walking Horses. Breeder of the undefeated 2016 WGC Honors, Anderton has raised numerous World and Reserve World Champions including TUA MCF and The Midnight Sky. His family-run operation performs all veterinary and reproductive work in-house, reflecting his deep dedication to the craft. Anderton’s emphasis on strong mare lines and sound horsemanship has earned him respect as one of today’s premier breeders.

W.E. (Ed) Broughton - Perdue Hill, Alabama (Posthumous)
The late Ed Broughton bred 275 registered Tennessee Walking Horses, leaving an indelible mark on the breed through his emphasis on conformation and heart. His program produced notable broodmares such as Command’s Miss Suzie, Arabella At The Ritz, and Sky’s True Silver Dollar, each the dam of World Grand or Reserve World Grand Champions. A respected cattleman and businessman, Broughton combined his agricultural expertise with a true passion for the Tennessee Walking Horse, shaping bloodlines that continue to excel in today’s show ring.


Berry & Loyd Coffey - Petersburg, Tennessee (Posthumous)
Renowned for their knowledge of bloodlines and commitment to excellence, Berry and Loyd Coffey were among Tennessee’s most respected horsemen. Their deep understanding of genetics and eye for quality produced a long line of successful show horses. Loyd served as Stallion Manager for Vic Thompson’s Stallion Stables before he and Berry managed the great Carbon Copy in the latter part of his career. Their work helped cement the foundation of the modern Tennessee Walking Horse.

William B. Johnson - Atlanta, Georgia (Posthumous)
Best known as a developer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel chain and a leading Waffle House franchisee, Bill Johnson also made a profound impact on the Tennessee Walking Horse industry through his ownership of Waterfall Farms in Shelbyville. His vision elevated breeding standards and introduced world-class stallions including Jose Jose, He’s Puttin’ On The Ritz, and Lined With Cash. Johnson’s investment and passion reshaped the industry, influencing generations of champions and advancing the global prestige of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
