On Friday, United States District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued his ruling with regards to the USDA’s rule to amend the Horse Protection Act regulations. The industry, through plaintiffs the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Tom Gould and Kimberly Lewis, were successful in challenging the USDA’s new rule.

Moose foaled a beautiful filly by Jose’ Jose’ on September 1, 2024, but everything changed on September 14, 2024, and continued to worsen thru October, 22, 2024. Moose coliced four times and had two abdominal surgeries at Iowa State Veterinary Hospital in Ames, Iowa.

WHTA Auxiliary dues deadline approaching

The March 1st deadline to pay WHTA Auxiliary dues to be eligible to show in WHTA Auxiliary classes is quickly approaching. Dues are $30 per year, unless you are a past president. Dues can be mailed to P.O. Box 1821, Shelbyville, TN 37162 or paid via PayPal to [email protected]. Please mail a member form to the same address or email it to the Auxiliary’s email address, even if your information has not changed.

ETWHA donates to St. Jude

The ETWHA donated $8,942.00 to St. Jude Children's Hospital. The association is appreciative of the exhibitors, trainers, spectators, vendors and all the volunteers that helped make this happen! Each year the ETWHA works very hard to donate to this worthy cause.

WHAA and AWHLA donates to Smile A Mile

The Walking Horse Association of Alabama and the Alabama Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary were able to donate $17,500 to Smile A Mile from fundraising efforts in 2024. Over the years, WHAA and the AWHLA has donated a total of $571,000 to Smile A Mile.
