2021 O/A Ponies Stallion World Champion
2022 O/A Ponies World Grand Champion
2022 O/A Ponies Stallion Reserve World Champion

The Walking Horse community is sad to announce the recent passing of World Grand Champion Strike just before the start of the 2024 Celebration.

Strike was foaled on October 14th, 2014, and sired by He’s Slim Shady out of an I’m In Command mare named Sunday School, he was bred and raised by Karen and Bill Bean and later sold to Martin Cox and Shannon Harr. The talented colt got his start at Cottonwood Farm under the direction of trainer Ryan Blackburn. Strike would later be sold to Ronnie and Ruth Logsdon in 2018. The next season Strike would catch the eye of the Baum family who purchased the stallion in the spring of his Four-Year-Old season. Under the direction of Callaway Stables, Strike and Lisa Baum would make their first show a blue ribbon hit.

Strike and Lisa would continue strong, showing 35 times over the next several years winning such shows as the North Carolina Championship, Liberty Lions Club, Christmas In July, National Trainers’ Show, Walking For The Angels and Walking In The Smokies to name a few. The powerful duo amassed two World Grand Championship titles in the O/A Ponies as well as a World Championship title in the O/A Ponies Stallion. Their last ring appearance would turn out the same way it began with a blue ribbon ride at the Christmas In July show in early July. This talented pony will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
