Billie Jean “Jeannie” Young, age 72, of Shelbyville, TN, passed from this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Jeannie was born on June 23, 1953, in Chatsworth, GA, to Billy Crump and Evelyn Baggett Crump. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Crump; sister, Kathy Scarborough; and nephew, John Wilbanks.
She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Baggett Crump; daughter, Beth (Josh) Lawwell of the Wheel Community in Bedford County; grandchildren, Jessica (Raine) Sims and Johnathon Lawwell, also of the Wheel Community, and siblings, Pat Wilbanks and Lynda Ballew.
Jeannie’s greatest joy in life was her daughter and grandchildren. She loved attending all their events and took immense pride in watching them grow.
Funeral services will be held 1p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Smyrna Baptist Church in Chatsworth, GA, with Andrew Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Baptist Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home.

Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
