BiBi & Maxine Beasley were in a serious accident that required several teams of paramedics. BiBi was flown to the ER in a helicopter and Maxine went by ambulance with Beth.

Tennessee Delegation Members lead letter with Rep. Rose to USDA defending Tennessee Walking Horse Industry

 U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) and six other Members of Congress, five from the Tennessee Delegation, led a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) outlining serious concerns about USDA Veterinary Medical Officer (VMO) inspections and violation reports from recent Tennessee Walking Horse shows.

Comer Calls on OIG to Initiate Review of USDA’s Enforcement of the Horse Protection Act

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is conducting oversight of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) enforcement of the Horse Protection Act (HPA) and its promulgation of a final rule titled Horse Protection Amendments.

NCWHA accepting scholarship applications

The North Carolina Walking Horse Association will award two scholarships at the North Carolina Championship in October. Applications are due by September 30. Applicants must have been a NCWHA Member by June 1.

Gilbert to judge TWHYA Summer Splash; Pre-enter most classes for free

The Tennessee Walking Horse Youth Association (TWHYA) is finalizing plans for their 6th Annual Summer Splash Youth & Halter Show this Saturday, August 10, at Maury County Park in Columbia, Tennessee. Vickey Gilbert of Rogersville, Alabama will judge the 31-class program, which includes just about every class for youth exhibitors and halter horses one can imagine.

New mural on Celebration grounds

The Celebration is continuing to upgrade and beautify the shows grounds, as well as enhance the fan experience. A new mural that was commission by artist, Kristen Seibold was just announced, and she did an amazing job. The mural is located on the brick wall near the Sir Pizza booth.

WHTA to host Shane Shiflet Photography during Celebration

The Walking Horse Trainers’ Association, located on the historic Celebration grounds, has announced it will, once again, host Shane Shiflet Photography during this year’s TWHNC Celebration. Last year, the WHTA office relocated to the old Gift Shop building, which had been home to Shane Shiflet Photography during the Celebration for the past several years.

Celebration entries remain consistent

The 86th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration will be held August 21st through August 31st and will once again host over 2.500 entries. The total number of pre-show entries was 2,536 matching the total from 2022, which was the first time in 12 years that the Celebration had topped 2,500 entries.
