Skylan Marie Wilson brings a lifelong connection to the Tennessee Walking Horse industry to her new role with The Walking Horse Report. Raised around barns and showgrounds, she developed an early appreciation for the early mornings, long days, dedication, discipline, work ethic, and love that define the industry.
Influenced by her father, a trainer with more than 25 years of experience, Skylan has built a strong foundation in horsemanship, along with an understanding of patience, consistency and taking pride in her work. She also holds a deep respect for the people and traditions that make the walking horse community unique. Her time spent ringside has given her a well-rounded perspective of the show world and the relationships that drive it forward.
In addition to her industry background, Skylan has a passion for photography, with a particular interest in capturing authentic moments that tell the story behind the horses and the people who show them.
Skylan is proud to be part of the walking horse industry and looks forward to contributing to the continued storytelling and coverage that define The Walking Horse Report.
“We are really excited to add Skylan to our team,” stated Publisher Jeffrey Howard. “She has been raised her entire life in the Walking Horse industry as the daughter of a trainer. Skylan's knowledge of the industry along with her kind, energetic personality are perfect traits to add to our existing team.”
