On April 25, 2026, the Big Beaver Golf Course in Piketon, Ohio, hosted the first-ever Strides for
Service Scramble—a remarkable charitable event organized through the combined efforts of KY-HIO, the Appalachian Walking & Racking Horse Association, and the East Kentucky Walking & Racking Horse Association.
Their partnership proved highly successful, as the event generated $3,750 for the TWH Legal Fund. Joey and Brandy Tackett, who spearheaded the scramble in their hometown, displayed exceptional leadership skills and are enthusiastic about fostering the event’s growth in the future.
Following this, the West Virginia Summer Classic took place on June 19 & 20 in Winfield, WV. The TWHBEA Pick Your Partner Pleasure Class generated $2,100 for the legal fund. The show plans to add more to this contribution, with the total donation expected to exceed $2,500. Co-hosted by the West Virginia Classic Horse Show and Appalachian Walking & Racking Horse Association, the organizers were thrilled to provide this fundraising opportunity to their exhibitors, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to supporting the TWH Legal Fund.
Altogether, the joint endeavors of these organizations have generated $6,250 for the TWH Legal Fund in 2026. This impressive outcome not only illustrates the power of collaboration but also highlights their shared dedication to advancing the fund’s mission.
